Feline friends looking for homes

It’s been a busy couple weeks after the open cat event and lots of the cats have got to their new homes, or will be shortly.

Sadly, as we were over full that hasn’t really eased the spaces but it has meant that as other cats go out we may be able to breathe again.

We did manage to help with a cat whose owner had passed away – Thomas, who is a handsome white and almost grey/black boy. He’s had an unsettled time over the last few weeks and we could never understand what he might be feeling, but he wants to be loved, and why shouldn’t he.

We also have our beautiful Ken, a stunning black cat, who has always been super friendly with us.

Smokey #2 was taken poorly over the weekend but with a lot of tlc, and no doubt a hefty bill, he has come through and is now back to his usual happy self. He originally came in with Chunk but we may now have to consider separating them. He needs another week to find his feet and then we’ll be in a better position to make a decision.

We have two super hamsters looking for separate homes. They are fascinating to watch as they create burrows and hides. They both have large (1m x 50cm x 40cm) tanks, which thankfully are spot-cleaned on a regular basis and don’t need a full clean out too often.

We still have lots of guineas looking for homes, both male and females and all under a year, some just a few months. They too are fascinating to watch and their chatter is something else. They have so many different sounds.

Luna, who came into us in such a poor state at the end of July, is unrecognisable. From the shutdown girl, who you might remember is also nearly completely blind and pretty deaf, and dramatically underweight, we now have a bit of a naughty minx!

Her hair has almost all grown back she now weights 26 kilos (and increase of 7 kilos). She has settled in and found her way around the kennels, the estate and has now, almost, stop leaping off the top steps from exercise area.

She is a medium to large dog, black and tan, and around eight year old. She is going to need a specific home to suit her disabilities.

We wouldn’t be looking to rehome her with children, although we know she lived with them. Visiting children would be find but, as she can sometimes be mouthy and doesn’t know what she is mouthing, resident children would not suit.
