Northumberland man pleads guilty to voyeurism charges

A Northumberland man has admitted two charges of voyeurism.
Sean Macneil pleaded guilty to the offences when he appeared at Berwick Magistrates’ Court on October 15.
The 47-year-old is charged with recording a private act and installing equipment for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification between November 19 and March 15.
He also admitted a charge of possession of cannabis.
The prosecution called for the matter to be committed to crown court for sentence but magistrates accepted jurisdiction after also hearing from the defence.
Chairman of magistrates Ben Humphrey said: “This is a very serious offence. All things considered we believe we are able to keep it in a magistrates court for sentence.”
They called for an all-options pre-sentence report.
“Even with your early guilty plea, this could include a custodial sentence,” Mr Humphrey told the defendant.
The case was adjourned until November 12 at Berwick Magistrates’ Court.
