Heating installers and plumbers from Northumberland invited to try and follow in footsteps of Alnwick man
The search has begun for the best heating installers, plumbers and apprentices in the North East as the Installer Awards 2027 opens for entries for the 12th year running.
Bringing together the long-running Heating Installer Awards and The Plumber Awards under one umbrella, the Installer Awards recognises the very best heating and plumbing professionals in the country, celebrating excellence, innovation, technical expertise and customer service across the sector.
This year, Nic Pearse of Gecko Heating Ltd in Gateshead was crowned the region’s Heating Installer of the Year while James Bell-Taylor of JBT Plumbing & Heating Ltd in Alnwick was named the region’s Plumber of the Year. Both impressed judges with their initial entries before going on to celebrate their achievements alongside the top installers and plumbers from across the UK at InstallerSHOW at the NEC Birmingham in June.

Free to enter, the awards begin with regional judging, giving installers and plumbers the opportunity to be crowned the best in their area before progressing to the national finals and competing for the prestigious titles of Heating Installer of the Year and Plumber of the Year.
The Installer Awards also includes a joint Apprentice of the Year category, which shines a spotlight on the next generation of talent entering the plumbing and heating industries, as well as a specialist HVAC category for heating installers delivering systems that heat, cool and improve air quality and ventilation.
As well as bagging some fantastic prizes, previous winners and finalists have benefited from increased local recognition, strengthened their professional reputation, developed new industry relationships and gained valuable exposure through the awards programme.
The deadline for entries is 22nd December 2026 and installers, plumbers and apprentices can submit their entries here.
