Award-winning Newbiggin fish and chip shop owners open Seaton Delaval restaurant
The owners of an award-winning fish and chip shop at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea are preparing to open another restaurant.
The Front Traditional Fish and Chips was named Northumberland’s best at the English Business Awards in both 2023 and 2025 and is a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
Owner, Navdeep Kumar started out in the fish and chip business in 2008 with a Wallsend shop before moving to Newbiggin.
Following the success of The Front, he is now opening Delaval Fish and Chips on Avenue Road in Seaton Delaval.
He said: “We work closely with the community and the people in Seaton Delaval said they’d really like a fish and chip shop.
“Everybody has been really welcoming of the idea because there isn’t currently a fish shop in the area.
"We’ve put so much hard work into the business and we are really looking forward to opening.”
The new shop will open on Friday, October 30, offering half price fish and chips for one day only.
