His Majesty King Charles III even sent his warmest good wishes from Buckingham Palace to all those involved in the memorable event.

Among the winners was Northumberland business Green Chillies in Ellington who won the award for Takeaway of the Year.

The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Karen Scarborough, who was in attendance at the event, said: “I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to all of today’s winners.

"The outstanding hospitality you deliver in every city, town and village is truly remarkable.

“Curry brings immense pleasure to people across the country. Congratulations to everyone for preserving these wonderful traditions and continuing to bring joy and enjoyment to so many people throughout the year.”

Created in 2019, the National Curry Awards was created in order to promote the businesses within the Asian catering industry and to recognise their talented and hard-working staff at both the forefront and in the background to keep the industry productive.

The award winners represent some of the highest quality service achieved through dedication to creating consistently excellent cuisine and customer service.

Event director, Abdul Ahad Chowdhury, said: “This is the seventh National Curry Awards, and it is a privilege to have every edition hosted at the prestigious House of Lords.

"These awards recognise the hard work and dedication of restaurants across the industry, celebrating their achievements and ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve.

"I believe the restaurant sector has a bright future, offering people the opportunity to become their own boss, build successful businesses and achieve their ambitions.

“Hosting this prestigious event at such an iconic venue also helps inspire younger generations to enter the industry and contribute to its continued growth and success.”
