Ashington bakery giving away free yum yums to football fans wearing retro shirts
An Ashington bakery is giving away free treats to football fans wearing vintage shirts this weekend.
Football fans are being rewarded for digging out their old shirts this month, with Bakery79 giving away freebies to supporters sporting retro kits.
The popular bakery chain is giving yum yums to customers who visit its stores, including Ashington’s Station Road venue, wearing a retro football shirt on Saturday, October 24.
Whether it's a Premier League classic, a vintage England shirt or a beloved local strip, fans simply need to turn up in their retro colours to claim a free treat.
The one-day giveaway is part of Bakery79's Retro Kit Day, celebrating the shirts that have stood the test of time, from iconic designs to legendary players.
Hemant Tandon, co-founder of the family-run bakery, said: “There's something special about an old football shirt. Whether it reminds you of your first match, a favourite player or a brilliant season, some kits are just too good to throw away.
“We wanted to give fans a reason to dig them out again and have a bit of fun with it ahead of another big weekend of football. All you've got to do is wear your favourite retro shirt and we'll give you a yum yum on the house."
