Final exhibition for acclaimed ceramic artist taking place in Berwick
The opening of an exhibition by an internationally-acclaimed ceramic artist in Berwick has been hailed as “an extraordinary success”.
This is the final exhibition of work by David Roberts. Working primarily with large coil-built forms, he creates ceramics that reference geological contours, weathered landscapes and flowing water patterns.
He has displayed his art internationally for more than five decades and his work is represented in major public and private collections.
The exhibition in Berwick runs until November 16, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience his extraordinary work in the beautifully curated surroundings of 27 Art House on Bridge Street.

Describing what happened on the opening evening, 27 Art House founder Amy Izat said: “It began with a completely sold-out talk at The Straw Yard, where local broadcaster Gerry Foley interviewed David in a wonderfully intimate and engaging conversation about his life, work and remarkable career in ceramics.
“This was followed by a private preview at 27 Art House, showcasing 14 stunning pieces of David’s work.
“The response was quite overwhelming – with 12 of the 14 pieces selling on the opening night, leaving just two available.
“Following the preview, around 20 guests continued their evening at Mavi, the Turkish restaurant on Bridge Street, rounding off what was a truly memorable occasion.
“The evening was such an extraordinary success, with The Straw Yard hosting the talk, 27 Art House welcoming visitors to the exhibition and Mavi benefiting from guests dining afterwards.
“I feel it’s such a positive example of what can be achieved in a small town when independent businesses collaborate, creating events that bring people together, attract visitors and support the local economy.”
