Amended parking restrictions approved on Alnwick industrial estate following public consultation
New parking restrictions are to be introduced on an Alnwick industrial estate.
An extension to the double yellow lines is planned on Oak Drive on the Lionheart Enterprise Park.

However, the scheme has been amended following public consultation and the ‘no loading’ element of the initial proposal has been dropped.
A report by Northumberland County Council states: “No Waiting or Loading at Any Time restrictions in the form of double yellow lines and double kerb blips were proposed to be extended to alleviate the concerns raised with obstructive and indiscriminate parking.
“During the consultation period, feedback was received from waste management officers that occasionally refuse vehicles are required to wait in the vicinity to gain access to the depot, meaning the proposed restrictions would restrict this practice and impact on daily operations.
“In light of this, it has been deemed acceptable to reduce the level of restrictions by removing the loading ban from the proposal and introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions i.e. double yellow lines only so that waste vehicles are still able to temporarily wait when necessary.”
