Guests enjoyed a delicious four-course meal alongside an exciting programme of entertainment, including live music from six-piece band Hip Operation, a silent disco and the brilliantly hilarious Bonkers Boogie Bingo.

The celebrations were accompanied by a host of fundraising activities, including a raffle, live auction and heads or tails, giving guests plenty of opportunities to support the charity while enjoying the occasion.

As an independent local charity and brand partner of Age UK, the organisation provides a wide range of services for people aged 50 and over, as well as their families and carers.

From helping people access welfare benefits and supporting those affected by scams to tackling loneliness through friendship calls, social groups and other vital services, the charity works hard to ensure older people across Northumberland receive the support they need.

Amy Whyte, Chief Executive of Age UK Northumberland said, “What a fantastic day. The Ultimate Smash Hits Daytime Ball was a wonderful celebration of music, laughter and community, and it was brilliant to see so many people come together to support Age UK Northumberland.

"We know how important our services are to older people across Northumberland, whether that's helping someone access the benefits they're entitled to, supporting someone who may be feeling lonely, or providing a friendly voice when it's needed most.

"Events like this help us continue delivering that vital support and make a real difference to people's lives.”

"I'd like to say a huge thank you to our headline sponsors, SOS Group Ltd and Trust Red, the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park, our incredible entertainers, prize donors, supporters and, of course, everyone who joined us on the day.

“It's a wonderful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together for a good cause. And if there's one thing we've learned, it's that you're never too old to enjoy a good dance and a brilliant party!”
