With more than 22 local artists taking part, visitors can look forward to a wonderful variety of original paintings and drawings, alongside prints, cards and gifts, all available to browse and buy.

There will also be a chance to see creativity in action, with several members painting live throughout the day. Visitors can watch artworks taking shape, discover different techniques and chat to the artists about their inspiration and creative processes.

Group chair Gordon Hudson said: “One of the lovely things about our art group is the sheer variety of talent and creativity among our members. Everyone brings something different, and our Autumn Fair is a fantastic opportunity to bring all that work together and share it with the wider community.

“We’re particularly looking forward to having some of our artists painting on the day. It’s fascinating to see how different people approach their work, and we hope visitors will enjoy watching them in action and asking a few questions!”

From familiar Northumberland landscapes and dramatic coastal scenes to wildlife, portraits and colourful abstracts, the fair promises something to catch everyone’s eye. Artwork spans a wide range of styles and media, including watercolour, oils, acrylics and mixed media, with pieces to suit all tastes and budgets.

Whether you’re looking for a special piece for your home, getting ahead with Christmas shopping or simply fancy an enjoyable afternoon surrounded by art, there will be plenty to discover.

Gordon added: “Our fairs are about much more than selling paintings. They’re a chance to bring people together, celebrate local creativity and share our love of art. We’re a friendly bunch and there’s nothing we enjoy more than chatting about painting over a good cup of coffee and a slice of cake!

“Every purchase and donation also helps us raise funds to keep our group thriving as a creative hub for the community, supporting workshops, activities and opportunities for people to enjoy making art. We’d love people to come along, have a browse and spend some time with us. Everyone is very welcome.”

The Autumn Art Fair takes place at the group’s regular meeting venue, the picturesque Whalton Village Hall, on Sunday 25 October, from 10.30am to 4pm.

Admission is free, the venue is fully accessible, and refreshments will be available throughout the day. Card payments are accepted for those tempted to take home a piece of original art.
