Affordable homes will be made available to Belford residents during open house event
People living in Belford will be offered the first chance to buy one of six affordable homes with a 30 per cent discount during an open house event.
Housebuilder Ida Homes and estate agency Northumberland Properties have arranged the event at South Meadows, which is located off South Road.
A view home will be unveiled of the spacious three-bedroom semi-detached Morpeth house which is available for the discounted price. Tours of the remaining private homes at the development will also be offered, including of the showhome which is now for sale.

“These affordable homes span more than 1,200 sq ft and will be available for £255,000, with residents of the parish of Belford given priority.
“South Meadows will bring 37 new homes to the village in total and four of these have already been handed over as affordable rented properties.”
The discounted houses have an EPC rating of A, which is the highest achievable, thanks to low-carbon measures such as solar PV panels and air source heat pumps. Buyers will own 100 per cent of the freehold and the property must be sold on at a 30 per cent discount in future.
The remaining private homes at South Meadows will be completed once buyers have selected kitchens, bathrooms and flooring, which are included in the purchase price.
Helen said: “Our team will be on site from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, October 29 for the open house event, along with staff from Ida Homes. We will be able to give personal tours of the affordable homes and other completed properties.
“We would encourage people to book a time slot for their personal tour but anyone who arrives without an appointment will still be welcome and we’ll have refreshments waiting.”
