Various workshops and attractions at new Re-Breathe arts festival on Holy Island
An exciting new arts festival on Holy Island is being held from Saturday, September 26 to Sunday, October 4.
Re-Breathe, which is taking place at various venues across Lindisfarne, has three straplines – ‘Creativity, Sustainability and Community’.
The festival is being co-ordinated by a group of the island’s residents and is using local artists, speakers and contacts, and others from further afield.
Over the course of the week, there will be variety of arts and crafts workshops, using sustainably sourced and recycled materials where possible, available for a variety of ages.

There will be a harvest jam event with local folk musicians, a community scratch choir event, storytelling workshops; dance workshops, talks on sustainability, botany and protecting the natural environment, several music concerts and a ceilidh.
A spokesperson for the organisers said: “The intention is to involve local people as much as possible, but also to be all inclusive.
“The workshops and concerts vary in cost – some being free, some at low cost and some with tickets available to be purchased online. We want to be sure that there will be something for everyone to get involved with if they’d like to over the course of the week.
“We open the week with a concert by a duet called ‘Celtish’ and our final concert is by Northumberland’s home grown ‘Brothers Gillespie’ folk duo.”
