Skyscanner names Northumberland beach as world's most underrated
Embleton Bay has been named among the UK’s best beaches for a coastal break this autumn.
Travel experts at Skyscanner have released their ‘Paradise Guide’ – an nteractive tool to help people find their perfect beach match, based on how they travel, their preferences, budget and plans.
To do so, they compared over 100 beaches in the UK and around the globe on different key metrics related to activities, amenities, safety, weather, beach types, and best months to go.
The study found that Embleton Bay, Northumberland, is the UK's fourth-best beach, boasting a nearly-perfect review rating of 4.9 out of 5, and pleasant average air (19°C) and sea (16.8°C) temperatures.
Embleton Bay was also named the world’s most underrated beach, scoring an excellent rating, despite a lower number of reviews (329) and online Google searches every month (4,400).
Taking the very top spot though was Dorset’s Sandbanks Beach, boasting the highest temperatures and a rating of 4.6 out of 5 across nearly 2,000 reviews.
