National Trail Hunting Day also marks the start of Newcomers to Trail Hunting Week (17–24 October), organised jointly by the British Hound Sports Association (BHSA) and Countryside Alliance under the Future for Hunting banner.

At South Charlton Farm, refreshments will be available from 10am, with speeches beginning at 10.45am, including an address from Andrew Osbourne, Chairman of the Masters of Foxhounds Association.

Hounds will meet at 11am, with three or four trails planned throughout the morning, providing opportunities for spectators to watch hounds working.

The event comes as the government considers responses to its consultation on proposals to ban trail hunting in England and Wales.
