Little Dougie is such a cutie
Dougie, the almost-eight-year-old Pomeranian, joined us a couple of weeks back – he is a known epileptic, but we didn’t have too much history so he had a check-up with our vets and a few blood tests to check how things were going.
He’s due another blood test in a couple of weeks to confirm all is as it should be. He is a lovely lad and good with other dogs but we feel he’ll be better as an only dog while he settles in a new home.
He is on regular medication and a specific diet to help with his epilepsy. He has been very settled in kennels and just loves life and people. He needs a quiet home without too much change or noise.
Jack, the collie, got a lot of applications last week and we’ll be looking at those applications this week. He was neutered last week so will be ready shortly to meet any potential owner. He’s proved to be a very intelligent boy, keen to please and picks things up quickly.
We were joined by two female chinchillas this week, Roxanne and Juno, both girls. Unfortunately, they had been sharing a cage with a male so will need to be on pregnancy watch for the next three months. Chinchilllas have a 3½-month pregnancy and when the kits are born, they are fully furred with their eyes open and within a few hours of being born start walking. Much as we’re sure they would be very cute, we are hoping, for the health of the girls, it will be a pointless wait.
Cats Lucky, two, Charlie, eight months, both black, and Blaze, 18 months, tabby, are all nice boys. Although they all came in together and could go to a home as a pair and a single. Blaze is the more timid but so keen to be loved and Charlie is just all over you. Lucky takes what is going and enjoys a bit of one-to-one.
We still have some lovely guineas looking for homes, both girls and boys and all youngsters. They need to go to an indoor home where they can get lots of company and cuddles.
