RNLI rescue four from Holy Island Causeway in emergency response
Four people have been rescued from Holy Island Causeway after being cut off by the tide.
Information posted to Facebook detailed that on Wednesday, April 15, just before 3pm, an emergency response was initiated in the second rescue of the year.

RNLI Seahouses were tasked by Humber Coastguard to launch their lifeboat after four people had become cut off by the tide in their vehicle.
RNLI volunteers launched at Seahouses Harbour and made best speed to the casualties reported location. Updated information advised that the casualties had left their vehicle and entered the water to make their way to the refuge hut on the Causeway.
On arrival at the scene scene, volunteers were informed the casualties had made it to the refuge hut where they then conducted a welfare check.
The casualties were conveyed safely to shore where the Coastguard Rescue Teams took over their onward care.
Social media officer and crew member Ollie Whelan also commented, urging visitors to check the crossing times when visiting the island.
Hew said: "Information about the safe crossing times can be found via the Northumberland County Council website or an app that's been created called Holy Island Crossing Times.
“We urge people to always air on the side of caution. If there's water on the causeway please don't attempt to cross.
“If you get into difficulty or you see someone in danger along the coastline or at sea call 999 and ask for Coastguard.”
Holy Island Crossing Times is a new app which offers real-time tidal causeway status and notifications to help visitors cross safely, without the need for WIFI or data.
