Blyth Town bounce back with commanding 4-0 win over Northallerton

Blyth Town strolled to a 4-0 win in midweek.

A flurry of second-half strikes helped Blyth Town to produce a major statement of intent as they beat Northallerton Town 4-0 at Gateway Park on Tuesday evening.

Michael Connor’s men recorded their first win in the Ebac Northern League Division One since late August, and moved up to 13th in the table as a result.

Following a goalless first half, Blyth found their ruthless streak in the second period, taking the lead shortly after the hour-mark courtesy of a strike from substitute Bailey Adamson - assisted by debutant Nathan Nkunku.

Town would then double their advantage with a little over a quarter of an hour remaining, with Adamson turning provider for Adam Johnson, who rifled his effort into the top corner.

From there, Blyth looked to see out the contest, and would seal all three points with a quickfire double in the closing stages. First, Ben Franklin headed home a third after connecting with a well-placed Evan Fogarty delivery, before Konner Lamb was played in by Ben Fell ball through the middle, and coolly converted to make it four in the 90th minute.
