Abbie Humphreys opened the scoring for Blyth after half an hour, but Morpeth replied just before the break when Rose McClean converted a spot kick.

With the second half goalless, the game ended 1-1 after regular time, and was consequently decided on penalties. In a dramatic finish to the contest, goalkeeper Amber Cochrane made an incredible three saves in a row to send Spartans through to the next round.

The draw for the Third Qualifying Round was made on Monday, and Blyth were once again drawn at home against Tier Four side Chorley Women, who compete three divisions above. The game will be played on Sunday, October 4th at Croft Park.
