Northumberland pubs named among UK's top 100 in Good Food Guide ranking
Four Northumberland pubs have been listed in country’s top 100 by the Good Food Guide.
In its second annual celebration of 100 Best Pubs, the 75-year-old guide has revealed a line-up of top pubs that bring their community together over a well-poured pint and standout cooking.

And, coming in at number 71 was The Ship Inn at Low Newton-by-the-Sea.
Renowned for its beer garden with stunning views of the Northumberland coast and in-house brewed beers, the pub was previously named the best in Northumberland by The Campaign For Real Ale.
Further Northumberland pubs to earn a place on the list included: The Rat Inn, Anick, at number 31, The Feathers Inn, Hedley on the Hill, at number 64, and The Kirkstyle Inn and Sportsman’s Rest, Slaggyford, in 65th place.
Adam Hyman, owner of Good Food Guide, commented: “While our industry continues to adapt to the new norm of what running a hospitality business looks like in Britain, our Best Pubs list once again shows that some of the best food and hospitality can be found in pubs.”
In partnership with Timothy Taylor’s Landlord and supported by Square, the 2026 pubs were named live at an awards ceremony in central London.
Louise McLaughlin, marketing director at Timothy Taylor’s, said: “The Good Food Guide's 100 Best Pubs celebrates everything that's great about the British pub: warm hospitality, quality food and drink, character, and a genuine connection to local communities.
"These are the kinds of pubs Timothy Taylor's is proud to champion, and we’re delighted to help shine a light on the publicans, their teams, and the loyal regulars who keep this important part of our culture thriving.”
