North East Escapes has been announced as the headline sponsor of the Northumberland Tourism Fair, the region’s largest tourism trade event, which will welcome more than 600 visitors from across the tourism and hospitality industry next week.

Taking place at Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre in Alnwick on Wednesday, March 18, the Northumberland Tourism Fair brings together business owners, tourism providers and industry professionals from across the region to connect, collaborate and showcase the very best of the North East’s visitor economy.

Organisers say the continued growth of the event reflects the strength and ambition of the region’s tourism sector, which plays a vital role in supporting local businesses and communities.

Speaking about the event, the organiser said: “Northumberland Tourism Fair has continued to go from strength to strength over the past four years and is an important annual event for business owners and industry leaders in the region.

"This growth wouldn’t be possible without the support we receive from North East Escapes as our headline sponsor, and we are grateful for this commitment to the local tourism industry.”

Founded by Steve Mitchenson, North East Escapes has quickly become one of the region’s fastest-growing holiday home management companies. Since launching in June 2024, the Alnwick-based business has expanded from managing just 13 properties to more than 110 homes across the North East, offering visitors beautiful places to stay while supporting holiday home owners with exceptional management services.

The company was created with a strong focus on combining local knowledge with professional holiday home management, helping showcase the North East as a world-class destination for visitors.

Steve said: “Tourism plays an incredibly important role in the North East economy, supporting thousands of local businesses and helping more people discover just how special this region is.

"From the dramatic Northumberland coastline to our historic towns, countryside escapes and vibrant coastal communities, there is so much here for visitors to experience. Holiday homes give guests the opportunity to explore the region in a more authentic way, staying in beautiful properties while discovering everything the North East has to offer.

"At North East Escapes, we’re passionate about showcasing the very best of the region while setting a new standard in holiday home management. Our goal is to help property owners maximise the potential of their homes while creating memorable stays that keep guests coming back to the North East year after year.

"Supporting the Northumberland Tourism Fair as headline sponsor is a fantastic opportunity to bring the industry together and celebrate the strength of tourism across the region.”

As part of its continued growth, North East Escapes is also offering a limited-time opportunity for holiday home owners across the region.

Property owners who join the company before the end of April will receive free property onboarding and professional photography, alongside expert pricing strategy and revenue optimisation to help properties launch successfully ahead of the busy summer season, and every season thereafter.

With a rapidly expanding portfolio and a strong reputation for personal service and local expertise, North East Escapes is continuing to play an important role in supporting both property owners and the wider tourism industry across the North East.

The Northumberland Tourism Fair is open to tourism businesses, accommodation providers, attractions, restaurants and suppliers from across the region, providing a valuable platform for networking, collaboration and industry growth.
