Alnmouth artist releases new illustrated book exploring village’s fascinating history
An artist from Alnmouth has released a new book featuring illustrated poems and observations on the fascinating history of the village.
Alnmouth Reflections, by local artist Terry Quy has just been published and features personally illustrated poems and observations on the long history of this village by the sea.

Focusing on one aspect of life each month, the pieces range from 684 AD to the present day.
Readers can enjoy poems about murder on the Alnmouth Train in 1910, the chequered history of what is now the Friary, how St Cuthbert kept his feet warm on the chilly Farne Islands, and Alnmouth’s ‘Great Catastrophe’ on Christmas Day 1806 when a huge storm changed the course of the river Aln.
Hardback and in colour, Alnmouth Reflections is currently on sale at Alnwick Playhouse, Aln Gifts in Alnmouth and Bridge Street Books in Amble.
It will also feature at Felton and Alnmouth Christmas Fairs.
