Northumberland housebuilder to host part exchange event this weekend
Leading housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes is inviting prospective buyers to attend its Part Exchange events at its developments across Northumberland on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September.

The developer is opening its doors for the weekend, welcoming prospective buyers to explore its developments across Northumberland.
Highlighting its Part Exchange scheme, as well as an extra offer of £10,000 deposit contribution, Barratt and David Wilson Homes are helping to make moving home less stressful for existing homeowners.
In a report published in February of 2026, Barclays Property Insights revealed that property chains are one of the most stressful parts of the homebuying journey for a majority of buyers. With 32% of UK adults who purchased or sold a home in the last three years experiencing a property chain, 46% also reported severe delays or transaction breakdowns. These delays and breakdowns had a knock-on effect, costing the buyer on average an additional £2,127 in further legal fees and surveys.
Property chains are one of the biggest factors for homeowners to delay moving homes, preventing many from moving into larger homes for their families, or even owning their dream home.
The Part Exchange scheme removes the property chain, and a lot of the stress, by allowing the developer to act as the guaranteed buyer of an existing home.
This in turn allows the buyer to move into their new home as soon as it is ready, without the continuous fear of their ideal home slipping through their fingers from a collapse in the property chain by other individuals.
Steven Ball, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North East, said: “We are dedicated to helping buyers find their ideal homes and making the moving process and simple as possible. By removing the need for a property chain we can ease a lot of the stress off the buyer so they can focus on preparing for their move.
“We are encouraging anyone looking for a new home in Northumberland to visit one of our developments in the county over the weekend. Our dedicated sales teams will be on hand to discuss the Part Exchange scheme in detail and answers any questions.”
Barratt and David Wilson Homes are hosting its Part Exchange weekend at its Church Fields development in New Hartley, as well as its Morpeth developments Laurel Chase and The Paddocks.
