'Kick on again' - Blyth Spartans boss Marc Nash delivers optimistic prediction amid 'top end' claim
Blyth Spartans have played their way into promotion contention during the early stages of the new season...
Blyth Spartans boss Marc Nash has suggested that his side could “kick on again” once their hectic fixture schedule settles down a little over the coming weeks.

The Northumberland outfit are currently in the midst of a relentless run of games, but have nevertheless played their way into an eye-catching patch of form. After stringing together a stellar unbeaten streak at Croft Park, Spartans find themselves in the play-off picture, and Nash is keen to ensure that his side stays there.
He said: “I've got aspirations of doing something at the top end of the table, and there's no doubt about that. But we don't want to get ahead of ourselves either. We've showed what we can do at home and I get there'll be a bit of frustration if we don't produce away.
“But at the same time, this is the start of a project, and it's a new team. We're just trying to build and have stability. That was the issue, and that's what we want. But because of the start we've made, people's expectations are going to go up and we've got to deal with that I suppose.”
And Nash is of the opinion that, all being well, his side should only keep improving as the rigours of their schedule ease as the campaign continues to progress. The Blyth boss added: “Obviously, we privately had our own targets within the group - the players, the management, the staff. The club were a bit more restrained - they were just wanting stability and a bit of ‘no drama’ kind of season. So if we go over and above that, then fantastic.
“I think at the minute we're just trying to get through this really busy period, to be honest. I think once we go Saturday to Saturday, we'll probably be in an even better place, and certainly have more selection headaches with more people, because at the minute, the schedule's absolutely been killing us but we've been getting results.
“So yeah, I would think we might kick on again once we get this busy period out of the way.”
