Dougie will make a special pet
Another busy week this week, with thankfully more going out than coming in, although sadly we know of a few extras coming in this week.
Over the weekend, we were joined by almost eight-year-old Pomeranian cross, Dougie, a playful boy, who on the whole is very loving, friendly and affectionate.
However, he has some controlled health issues that will need regular medication. He will need to see our vet this week to ensure we have the full picture but we have no doubt he’s going to be a very special pet for any new owner.
Billie is a young cockatiel who we are looking to place in a home where he will have lots of handling time and plenty of room to fly. He has been hand-reared and we would not want to rehome him to an aviary. Someone who is home a lot and has plenty of time to spend with him.
It is quite possible he would do well in a home with children, however they would need to be very sensible as we have no doubt Billy would be more than happy to explore the outside if a window or door were left open.
Ralph, a young lurcher who’s under two, has done so well with his training. He is very keen to learn and has really come on well, now interacting and walking calmly around other dogs. With the correct introduction, he could go to a home with another dog.
We are pleased with the progress of Alfie, the spaniel. He has lost 7 kilos since coming in and still has a similar amount to go. He was in last week to have a lump removed that had recently changed. All is good though and no further issues are expected. He was along at the Ramparts Mot Car Meet event this last weekend and was in his element going from cuddle to cuddle. He needs to lose a bit more weight before finding a home but it is looking promising.
Although some of our guineas have gone to homes, we still have lots left, boys and girls, from 12 weeks up to around 10 months.
