Man charged after cannabis farm discovered at Northumberland pub

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a cannabis farm in a Rothbury pub.

Northumbria Police attended The Railway Hotel on Bridge Street on Monday, June 7 following a report from an electricity company.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and later charged with producing a Class B drug.

Police also confirmed that the plants were removed and destroyed.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At about 2.20pm on Monday we received a report from an electric company that a cannabis farm had been found inside the Railway Hotel pub in Rothbury.

“Officers attended the scene and about 100 plants were removed and destroyed. A 25-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with producing a Class B drug.”
