Young Berwick speedway rider Leon Flint represented GB in a mini test series against Australia in Perth at the weekend.

The touring side, led by three times world champion Tai Woffinden, beat the Aussies 30-39 in the first meeting on Friday with Flint scoring nine points. And on Saturday the Lions completed the double with a 54-36 victory, Flint scoring 5+2. Flint, who is 17, has been in Australia for the past seven weeks, gaining valuable experience ahead of the new season in the UK where he will ride for a second successive season with his home town club, Berwick Bandits in the Championship.

GB team manager Ian Stead says he hopes to make the series an annual event.
