Away win delight for Morpeth Town manager Craig Lynch
Morpeth Town won an important three points away at West Auckland Town last Friday night with an injury time goal making it 2-1 to the visitors.
Will Dowling opening the scoring after 16 minutes and there were chances at both ends as the game progressed.

Charlie Smith scored for the hosts after 84 minutes and it looked like being a draw until Adam Lennox got the winner for the Highwaymen in the fourth minute of injury time.
The win moved Morpeth up to ninth place in the table after all the weekend fixtures.
Speaking after the game, Morpeth Town boss Craig Lynch said: “We had three one-on-ones, so it could have been more than the two goals we scored.
“Some of our play was brilliant in the first half.
“We had to make five changes during the game. All of them had to come off for different things – not massive things, which is good, but little bits and pieces.
“We had to change the formation and we’ve conceded a goal. But it was a great reaction from the lads to get a winning goal in injury time.
“I’m delighted for them. Unbelievable on a Friday night to get three points on the board.
“Adam (Lennox) had a great chance earlier in the game, so to keep going and in injury time taking a touch on his left foot and putting it into the corner – brilliant. That will do his confidence a world of good.
“I’m pleased with every single one of the players and we finished the game with four or five teenagers on the pitch. Great attitude and resilience to come away with three points.”
Morpeth started the league season with two away draws – 0-0 at Pontefract and 1-1 at Ashington.
Next was a 2-0 defeat against Matlock Town at Craik Park, but it was followed by a 2-0 home win against West Auckland Town which means the Highwaymen have now achieved a league double over West Auckland Town.
The result on Friday was also an excellent response to the 1-0 defeat away to Blyth Spartans on Monday, August 31.
