Alnwick Town suffer away defeat against Chester-le-Street Town
Alnwick Town were beaten 2-0 by Chester-le-Street Town over the weekend
Alnwick Town slipped to 15th in the Ebac Northern League Division Two table after suffering a third straight defeat at the hands of Chester-le-Street Town on Saturday afternoon.

Having come unstuck in their last two outings, against Darlington Town and Billingham Synthonia, the Magpies found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline in County Durham.
After Alnwick had struck the upright early on, Charlie Hindson handed the home side the lead after just nine minutes, ensuring that Chester-le-Street went in ahead at the break.
But things would soon go from bad to worse for the visitors, who conceded a penalty shortly after the restart, which Jordan Lavery duly converted to double Chester-le-Street’s advantage.
From there, Alnwick were unable to work their way back into the contest, and the final whistle brought with it an eighth defeat in 16 league outings this season. Their next game comes against Ryton and Crawcrook Albion on Saturday, October 24th.
