Solicitors show that where there's a Will, there's a charity way
A law firm in North Shields has made a ‘grand’ donation to the annual charity Will-writing campaign - Will Aid.
Hadaway & Hadaway Solicitors has supported Will Aid since 2013, dedicating its time and expertise to writing wills throughout November – this year raising £1,135.

Instead of charging their usual fees for basic wills, they invited clients to make a donation to Will Aid - helping to fund a range of charities, including Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Crisis, the NSPCC and Shelter.
Deborah Sinclair from the firm, said: “We’re proud to have supported Will Aid each year. It’s a great opportunity to help our clients plan for the future while also raising funds for incredibly important causes.
“It’s always a real team effort, and everyone gets behind the campaign.
“The funds raised will go on to support people facing difficult circumstances, both here in the UK and around the world, which makes taking part all the more meaningful.”
Since its launch in 1988, Will Aid has raised more than £26m in donations, with millions more pledged in charitable legacies thanks to the generosity of participating solicitors.
Will Aid chair Lauren Poole, said: “Congratulations to the team at Hadaway and Hadaway on raising such a fantastic amount. It’s always inspiring to see firms come together to support Will Aid, giving their time and expertise to help clients while raising vital funds for our partner charities.”
Peter de Vena Franks, Will Aid’s campaign director, added: “The continued commitment from firms like Hadaway & Hadaway is what makes Will Aid such a success year after year.
“It’s a great example of how the legal profession can make a meaningful difference in communities.”
Will Aid runs every November, offering people the opportunity to have a professionally written Will in exchange for a donation.
The suggested donation is £120 for a basic single Will and £200 for a pair of basic mirror Wills, with all proceeds supporting Will Aid’s partner charities.
