Pupils come up with winning designs for RAF Boulmer Christmas card competition

The winners of RAF Boulmer’s annual Christmas card competition have been announced.

The designs by two winners and two runners-up have been selected to be produced as Christmas cards for the station.

In the 8-11 age group the winner was James Gaines from Shilbottle Primary School, the runner up was Ashton Greig from Red Row First School.

The winner in the 4-7 age group was Ruaridh Marley from Longhoughton Primary School and the runner-up was Hamish Mather from Shilbottle Primary School.

Both winners received a £20 toy store voucher and copies of their own card to send to friends and family, with the runners up receiving a £10 toy store voucher each.

An honourable mention also goes to Seahouses Primary School, who submitted an incredible 80 designs.

Jennifer Robinson from RAF Boulmer said “We’re really pleased with the response to the competition from the local community and we’re happy to be able to spread a bit of Christmas cheer.”
