Spark! drummers hit the right note at Morpeth Christmas lights switch-on - and now they're coming to Alnwick

Hundreds of spectators are expected to line the streets of Alnwick for the annual Grand Lantern Parade on Saturday, November 23.

The procession starts outside The Alnwick Garden at 6pm and will follow a route into town centre, culminating in the market place with an amazing display of music and lights.

Led by Spark! the parade is totally free of charge. Booking is not necessary, but make sure you get there early to get a great view.

Spark! were a highlight of the Morpeth Christmas lights switch-on event on Saturday, with hundreds of people turning out to watch their display on Bridge Street despite the wet weather.

There was also a festive market and street food, a mistletoe fair in the town hall, performances by Morpeth All Saints School Choir, The Doo Wop Dollies and Ellington Colliery Band.

The switch-on of the Christmas lights was followed by a fantastic fireworks finale.
