Four fun festive activities for children to get into the Christmas spirit this year

Christmas is said to be the most wonderful time of the year – so here are four festive activities for your children to do this December.

As a parent, it can be difficult to think how to entertain your children during the holiday season. While there is no snow to play in (yet) here are four festive activities to keep your little ones smiling.

Meet Santa Clause and find out what you should be leaving for him and his reindeer on Christmas Eve and get an early Christmas present.

Enjoy seasonal stories with classics like ‘The Snowman’ and ‘The Polar Express’.

Tickets cost £6.50 per child, included in the price is a 30 minute session with Santa, a gift and photograph opportunities.

Christmas Screening hosted by Zone 22 on Front Street

Enjoy a family screening of Elf or Arthur Christmas

Watch Elf on, Sunday, December 22 at 1.30pm

Watch Arthur Christmas on Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21 at 1.30pm

Get in the Christmas spirit and listen to some classic songs. Children will have the opportunity to decorate a biscuit as their snack ready for the film or write a letter to Santa.

Tickets cost £6 per child and £2 per adult, under 1s go free but still need a ticket.

Monday, December 16, 11.15am to 12.15pm

Jo Jingles Newcastle upon Tyne and Yoga with Jo are pairing up to bring your toddlers an event full of music, movement and yoga activities with a festive twist. Suitable for toddlers ‘walking to 4-years-old’.

£8 per child and up to two adults

Wednesday, December 18 and Thursday December 19, 9.15am to 10.45am

Breakfast with Santa and Mrs Claus, each child will get a gift, a photo opportunity and meet and greet with the man himself.

Breakfast and play time in the centre is included.

£12 per child and adults are limited to a maximum of two per child to ensure comfortable seating arrangements.
