The rules mean there will be less indoor space to get warm, so visitors are encouraged to wrap up warm and be prepared for a magical outdoor Northumbrian extravaganza!

The Alnwick Garden has been working hard to ensure that Christmas 2020 is full of messages of hope, reunion and joy in what has been a difficult year.

Mark Brassell, director of The Alnwick Garden said: “This year our message is one of hope and reunion – we have constructed a gigantic selfie frame which will be live streamed via our website and we are encouraging our visitors to bring written messages to show their loved ones around the world.

"We will also have professional photographers on site throughout the event, allowing families to capture their memories.

“This year we are excited to be able to work with the Alnwick Chamber of Trade, Alnwick Town Council and numerous stakeholders to be able to include an additional light installation in Alnwick town that compliments the great work done by the Alnwick lights team.

"The intention is to send some much-needed footfall towards our local, independent retailers. There will be a fantastic projection in the Market Square which visitors will be able to experience in a safe, open environment.

"Takeaway food and beverage options are available in The Garden and in the town to keep everyone warm on a cold Northumbrian evening!”
