A collaboration between English Heritage and Northumbria University’s School of Design, Arts and Creative Industries and Department of Architecture and Built Environment has seen a new exhibition launched at an historic Northumberland site.

Material and Memory opened at English Heritage’s Brinkburn Priory and Manor House earlier this month and it will run until November 3.

Featuring around 20 creators from Northumbria University, the exhibition includes works in mixed media, from etchings to textile prints, a monk floor lamp in oak and paper, a candleholder and a ‘dissolution’ board game all taking inspiration from the sparse interior of the 19th Century manor house at Brinkburn, which stands next to the beautifully restored Priory Church.
