5. Lucy Bronze, Footballer
Regarded as one of the best footballers in the world, Berwick-born Lucy started her junior footballing career at Alnwick Town before joining Blyth. She later joined Sunderland Everton, Liverpool, and Manchester City. She now plays for French side Olympique Lyon and has virtually made the England number two shirt her own. 6. Laura Weightman, Athlete
Olympian Laura Weightman hails from Alnwick and is a member of Morpeth Harriers. She's had huge success in her field, reaching the 1500 metres final at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics. She won a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and bronze medals at the 2014 and 2018 European Championships. She also won a bronze medal in the 5000 metres at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. 7. Kathryn Tickell, Musician
A hugely-talented musician, Kathryn is a master of the Northumbrian smallpipes and fiddle. Although born in the West Midlands, she moved to her parents' native Northumberland when she was seven. Today, she's been awarded BBC Radio 2 Folk Artist of the Year awards and an OBE for her musical talent. She's a passionate supporter of North East arts. Photo: Jane Coltman
8. Stella Vine, Artist
Alnwick-born Stella Vine is a renowned artist who was put in the spotlight when her painting of Princess Diana was bought by Charles Saatchi. Last year her work went on show in the town’s Bailiffgate Museum. She was born in Alnwick in 1969, as Melissa Jane Robson, and while she loves the town and Northumberland, she spends her time between here and the sunnier climate of Ibiza.
