October half-term has officially begun and many families are getting into the spirit of Halloween.
While everyone is busy digging out their decorations and carving their pumpkins ready for the big day, you may not know where to start your next Halloween activity.
So, to make it a little easier, here’s a list of some activities to fill up the half-term schedule, from pumpkin picking to haunted trails for bewitchingly brilliant day out.

5. Manor Walks
Get ready for some frightful fun this half term at Manor Walks Shopping and Leisure, where visitors can dive into a variety of spooktacular activities from October 28-31 in Centre Mall. On Halloween Manor Walks is asking visitors to turn detective and search the mall for clues in a fun game of whodunit to win a goody bag full of treats alongside free face painting. 6. Wallington
Wallington Hall is hosting a range of Halloween events between October and November 3, including a broomstick trail at the Little Acorns nature play area, spooky football croquet and Halloween crafts. Check the National Trust's website for more information and times. Photo: Jane Coltman
7. Spookydorei
From now until November 3, The Alnwick Garden’s magical play village will be transformed for its annual Halloween extravaganza. Spookydorei has two trails to explore, with spooky and not-so-spooky options available. 8. Northumberland National Park
From crafts to chilling walks steeped in local folklore, there's no place better to enjoy the countryside during spooky season than Northumberland National Park. Go batty at The Sill with their Bats are Brill workshop on October 30, where you’ll learn all about bats and create your own bat box, or get creative at their Halloween Lantern Making session on the 31 October, where you can decorate your own spooky lantern to guide your trick or treating. Head to the Northumberland National Park website to book a session. Immerse yourself in the land's rich folklore, and head to the Simonside hills to hunt for the Duergars of Simonside, or Thirlwall Castle, which was legend tells still houses a Dwarf guarding a lost treasure, or visit Murder Cleugh in the Cheviot Hills which holds tales of a murder 400 years ago.
