5. NPNG zoo lynx.jpg

6. Trip to the seaside
If the weather is kind, how about a trip to the seaside? Northumberland has loads of beautiful beaches and pretty harbours, such as Seahouses where the kids will love tucking into fish and chips!

7. Countryside walk
Northumberland is renowned for its wonderful countryside and there are few better walks than along the River Coquet at Warkworth, taking in the beautiful autumnal colours.

8. Stargazing
The Twice Brewed Inn, which sits on one of the most dramatic stretches of Hadrian’s Wall, has scheduled a number of special evening sessions designed to bring the wonders of the night sky to life for family groups during the school holidays. Sessions take place at 6pm from Tuesday, October 27 th to Saturday, October 31 when there will be a special Blue Moon session in honour of Halloween.
