Youngsters from Alnwick Playhouse’s Youth Theatre Group will be taking to the stage with a children’s classic next week.

Join in as they present Alice in Wonderland, based on the 1951 Disney film Alice in Wonderland, and the novels The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll.

The youth group will present the showcase on the Playhouse stage on Friday, December 1, at 7pm and Saturday, December 2, at 2pm and 7pm.

Jo Potts, Playhouse manager and director of Alice in Wonderland, said: “The Christmas musical production is always eagerly anticipated and we have a wonderful cast, rehearsing extremely hard for opening night.

“Alice In Wonderland brings together members from both the junior and senior Youth Theatre and we think this production will delight everyone, young and old. We have fabulous singing flowers, sea creatures and a crazy colourful caterpillar and Cheshire cat.

“The Playhouse Youth theatre has always been at the heart of the Playhouse arts development and this year we have more young people engaged in all aspects of production than ever before.
