Once Upon a Time in the North, performed by Northumberland Theatre Company, today, at Alnwick Playhouse Studio.

Christmas came early with this treat of a show from Northumberland Theatre Company (NTC).

The Alnwick-based group is touring Once Upon a Time in the North over the festive period.

And it certainly puts you in a seasonal mood.

The production, centered on Christmas celebrations, brings a number of Northumbrian tales and folklores to life, with a nice mix of puppetry, dance and music.

The four-person cast of Bidi Iredale, Eleanor Dennison, Justine Adams and Louis Roberts shines brighter than the star leading the way to Bethlehem.

NTC never fails to deliver and Once Upon a Time in the North is another case in point.

The company is performing just for schools, today and tomorrow.

The tour opens to the public from Saturday, at Glanton Memorial Hall, at 6.30pm.

It then travels around the North East and Borders, including Kielder (December 17), Etal (December 18) and Chatton (December 27).
