WOOLER’S annual community show raised more than £3,000 at the weekend and entertained more than 500 people in the process.

The money from the show – The Pied Piper of Hamelin (pictured) – will go to Wooler organisations, this year including the two schools, the Christmas Lights Fund and outings for the elderly of Glendale.

The audiences were particularly delighted at the large numbers of children who took part in the show, thanks to Wooler Cubs and Scouts who entered into the spirit of community performance with gusto.

The cast of nearly 50 sang their way through the story of the Pied Piper, following it with a series of sketches, songs and instrumentals.
