Having toured across the country with its latest production, Northumberland Theatre Company’s annual show run comes to an end this weekend.
The Ugly Duckling performance has received huge praise across the board and on Saturday it is Shilbottle Community Centre’s turn to host.
Performed with a five-strong cast, the Ugly Duckling is an enchanting reworking of Hans Christian Andersen’s much-loved story about a duckling’s transformation into a swan by acclaimed children’s writer Neil Duffield.
The cast welcomes back NTC favourites Eleanor Dennison and Louis Roberts along with Laura Jayne Ayres, Robert Pegge and newcomer Natalie Simone.
They tell a story about growing up, finding your own identity and a mother’s struggle to protect her children or let them go.
The show has been on the road since the beginning of December with Highlights Rural Touring Theatre.
And it comes to Shilbottle after a very successful showing of Thumbelina last October and continues the community centre’s series of family shows.
It takes place at the community centre on Saturday at 4pm.
Ticket are adults £7.50; concessions £6.50, child £4 Family ticket £19.
