A CLASSIC tale re-told – Northumberland Theatre Company (NTC) bring their winter production of Hansel and Gretel to four north Northumberland venues over the coming weeks.
The popular touring group will be performing in Chatton, Glanton, Rothbury and Kielder, as part of their current tour, which started earlier this month and runs until the end of January – taking the talented cast to the likes of Tyneside, the Scottish Borders and further afield.
And audiences are in for a treat.
Penned by Mike Kenny, this is a new telling of an old tale for our consumerist times.
Gothic, funny, scary and exciting, the story sees Hansel and Gretel starving and with nothing to eat.
However, they soon find themselves living in a house where everything is to eat – including the house itself – but they themselves are the main thing on the menu.
The company will perform at Chatton Village Hall on Thursday, December 29.
For tickets, call 01668 282271 or 07801 981377.
Then, on Tuesday, January 3, NTC present the show at Glanton Memorial Hall, with tickets available by calling 01665 578548.
Kielder County First School plays host to the show on Wednesday, January 4.
Phone 01434 250257 for tickets.
Thursday, January 5, will see the group perform at Rothbury Middle School, and tickets can be purchased by contacting 01669 621292.
All four performances start at 6.30pm.
