An Alnwick amateur dramatics group is getting set for its next production, which is for adult eyes only.
Full of bedroom farce, comedy and laughter, Alnwick Theatre Club will be performing In My Lady’s Chamber at the end of this month for a four-night run at Alnwick Playhouse.
The play was written by Giles Scott and is being directed by Helen Gee-Graham.
The play is about Lady Jane who has been dallying with the squire while Lord William is away.
Helen said: “I chose the play because as a group when we do panto we are often wishing we could do an adult themed panto, but for obvious reasons we can’t.
“So when this opportunity came along to direct, I chose an adult-only play, which is full of bedroom humour.
“Needless to say we spend more time wiping away tears of laughter during rehearsals than anything else.”
The usual cast are involved in the production with Cath Hughes taking on the role of Lady Jane, Peter Biggers playing Lord William, and servant Tom, castle idiot, played by Trevor Hughs.
The play will be on stage from Wednesday, May 25, to Saturday, May 28, at the Playhouse.
Tickets are £11 premier, £10 standard, £9 concs, on 01665 510785 or online.
