You’re Not Like The Other Girls Chrissy, created and performed by Caroline Horton. Various venues, Wednesday, April 6 to Friday, April 8, 7.30pm.
FOLLOWING the smash-hit success at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe, Caroline Horton’s You’re Not Like The Other Girls Chrissy is coming to Northumberland.
With performances in Craster and Wooler and a further one near Morpeth, this production tells the extraordinary true story of Caroline’s French grandmother’s romance with a tongue-tied English teacher from Staffordshire.
Waiting at Gare Du Nord for the train to England that will reunite her with her fiancé, she shares their love story, from a chance encounter at Cheadle to cosmopolitan 1930s Paris, before their separation by war.
It is a fond, comical and ultimately poignant portrait of one woman’s experience of love and war.
The first performance, on April 6, takes place at Craster Memorial Hall, Craster. Tickets are £5.50 adults and £20 for a family. Contact the box office on 01665 576462.
The Cheviot Centre, Wooler, hosts the next show on April 7. Tickets cost £7 adults, £19 family, £6 concessions and £4 for a child, from the box office on 01668 282406.
Finally, Caroline moves to Middleton and Todridge Village Hall, near Morpeth, on April 8. Tickets are £6.50 for adults and £4 for children. Call the box office on 01670 772600.
