A theatre company is bringing its world-renowned Black Box theatre to north Northumberland to tell the story of a book-eating boy.

The show sees Bootworks Theatre bring Oliver Jeffers’ award-winning children’s book The Incredible Book Eating Boy to life.

An exciting adventure for children aged four and up, and their grown ups, using live performance, puppetry and back projection. it is performed inside Henry’s very own bedroom providing books to read, activity packs and the chance to meet Henry’s goldfish Ginger.

Those who go can stay in Henry’s room before and after a one-to-one performance which last five minutes.

Each show is presented to one child and an accompanying adult, or one adult, at a time.

It tells the story of Henry, who loves books, but not like the rest of us, he loves to eat books, but he soon finds out that a a book-eating diet isn’t the healthiest of habits.

The Incredible Book Eating Boy will be at the Alnwick Playhouse for performances on Thursday, November 1, at 3pm, Friday, November 2, at noon, 2pm and 4pm, Saturday, November 3, at noon, 2pm and 4pm, and Sunday, November 4, at 10.30am.

The Bootworks Theatre creative team will also be hosting a fun and creative workshop on Saturday, November 3, between 10am and 11.30am.

Tickets for the show and workshop cost £5 each.
