STARGAZERS will be given an exciting opportunity to observe the night sky on Saturday, with a special event at Bamburgh Castle.

Led by Dr Adrian Jannetta and fellow members of the Northumberland Astronomical Society, the evening will form part of BBC Two’s Stargazing Live 2012.

Running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, it will feature a 60-minute talk in the King’s Hall with Dr Jannetta followed by the opportunity to try a variety of telescopes in the Inner Ward.

The event is free to attend and refreshments will be available.

Telescopes are provided, but participants are invited to bring their own telescopes and binoculars. Bring warm clothing.

Free parking is available in the castle car park. Those with special access needs should contact Chris or Katie on 01668 214208.

To book a place or for more information, contact Mel Nicholls by emailing or calling 01670 534059.

Fenham Farm Coastal Bed and Breakfast, at Beal, will hold the same event on Saturday, January 21, from 7.30pm.
