An Alnwick lad has been chosen to perform a 20-minute opening set as the local support act for an international tribute band.

Daniel Hope will be singing before Only One Direction take to the stage of the town’s Playhouse on Wednesday.

Talented Daniel is set to go into one of the West End’s biggest musical shows, but before he embarks on his London adventure, he will be giving one last performance in his hometown.

He is a good friend of Only One Direction and he is very excited to perform an upbeat warm-up set of popular songs to get everyone up and dancing ready for the main act.

Daniel won’t be the only one at the gig to have a connection to Alnwick.

Jack Greaves, from the town, is part of the Only One Direction group.

The tribute band have been together for a number of years and enjoyed constant success at sell-out venues, performing One Direction’s hits throughout the UK, Europe and the United Arab Emirates. They have played to more than 200,000 people, securing themselves as a popular tribute band.

Only One Direction capture the charisma, energy and enthusiasm of the famous five and their show features songs from all three of One Direction’s smash-hit albums including What Makes You Beautiful, Story of My Life, Best Song Ever, Midnight Memories and many more.

The concert takes place at Alnwick Playhouse on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Admission is £16.50 premier, £15.50 standard, £14.50 child/student. Call 01665 510785.
