Romanian folk group Doinita lit up Alnwick last week with their huge variety of songs, dances and colourful costumes.
They brought the customs of the different regions if their country, Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrogea, Moldova, Banat, Bihor, Oas and Transylvania, to life in a series of show at the Alnwick International Music Festival.
Each dance or song was complemented by a traditional costume of that region.
The young dancers are trained at the House of Culture of Students in Bucharest, founded by Gherghe Leasa. They are ambassadors for their cultural traditions and customs, taking part in festivals around Europe, India and Israel.
