Silver Alnwick – singing group, Lindisfarne Adult Learning Centre, Lindisfarne Middle School, Friday, January 14, then weekly, 1.15pm.

Silver Alnwick, the daytime singing group for people over 50, starts up again tomorrow.

The informal, relaxed and fun sessions take place every week between 1.15pm and 2.45pm.

They are always pleased to have new members join the choir, so you could go along and make singing your new year’s resolution.

Regular members really look forward to Friday afternoons and the opportunity to have a ‘good sing’.

Silver Alnwick was established in 2008 by 20,000 Voices in partnership with The Sage Gateshead’s Silver programme and is directed by Anne Suggate, Song Manager for 20,000 Voices.

It is one of four similar choirs in Northumberland, encouraging people over 50 to sing on a regular basis.

It is now widely recognised that regular singing is good for you, improving physical, mental and emotional health as well as being an enjoyable, sociable activity.

Now an independent company and registered charity, 20,000 Voices organises vocal activity around the region for singers of any age and ability including projects with Alnwick Boys’ Choir.
