It’s almost six years since the King of Pop died, but Michael Jackson fans can see the next best thing in a fortnight’s time in Alnwick.
Jackson Live in Concert, which appears at the Playhouse on Saturday, June 13, sees long-time, and hugely-talented, fan Ben Bowman recreate the experience with his stunning rendition of all his favourite songs.
Michael Jackson is not only remembered as one of the most influential artists of all time, but many of today’s artists have been inspired by his iconic style.
His career spanned nearly five decades and he was continually at the forefront of popular music.
According to the promoters, Ben’s portrayal of Jackson has to be the most accurate and exciting tribute to the King of Pop to have toured UK theatres.
Ben is joined on the stage by his incredible band and dancers, who work their way through all the hits.
He’s got the look, the moonwalk and the voice, meaning his renditions of the likes of Thriller, Beat It and Billie Jean are truly sensational.
Jackson Live in Concert features all-live vocals, superb musicians and dancers, fabulous costumes and, of course, all the signature dance moves associated so fondly with MJ.
Ben says: “From as far into my childhood as I can remember, I have always been obsessed with Michael Jackson. Everything about the King of Pop mesmerised and enchanted me.
“I used to spend hours pouring over album covers, photographs, interviews, videos and anything I could find that was about Michael. Even my seventh birthday party was Michael Jackson-themed.”
Jackson Live in Concert is at Alnwick Playhouse on Saturday, June 13, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £18.50, or £19.50 premier, on 01665 510785 or online at www.alnwickplayhouse.co.uk
